The Kenya 6 days big five safari is a combination of the best game viewing experiences with the immersion into 2 of the most popular Rift valley lakes. Wildlife game drives in Masai mara is one of the best adventures as the park has the highest population of game spread across gently sloping plains with bountiful food supply. There are more than 3 million animals in Masai Mara including a very high concentration of predators. The wildebeest migration is another phenomenon which takes place every year in Masai mara when over 1.5million animals cross over 3,000km in search of pasture.
Lake Nakuru and Lake Naivasha offer a lake holiday experience with wide open views of the lakes birds, hippos and buffalos grazing at the shores. The lake Nakuru is popular for its tree climbing lions and flamingos with rhinos that don’t obey traffic rules. Lake Naivasha’s crescent island gives you a chance to walk along with wildlife. Animals to see include lions, buffalos, elephants, leopards, rhinos, giraffes, hyenas, zebras, gazelles, impalas, pythons, wildebeests, jackals among many others.

📋 Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival
Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta Airport. Warmly received by our team members and transferred to Serena hotel or similar for your overnight stay in the city.Relax in preparation for the adventure packed days ahead.
Day 2: Nairobi – Lake Nakuru National Park
Driving Distance: 280km (5hrs.30min) Game Drive Hours: 3hrs Meals: Lunch and Dinner Your Masai mara Lake Nakuru and lake Naivasha 5 days safari starts with a pick up from your city hotel and start of the drive to mara at 0830am after breakfast. You will make a stop at the Great Rift Valley view point to learn how the valley was formed. Arrive in lake Nakuru and check into Sarova Lion hill or Similar j. Enjoy a lunch and an afternoon siesta or swim in the pool. Later go on a game drive in the park at 1600hrs around the lake to see the tree climbing lions, the flamingos, buffalos, rhinos, giraffes, gazelles, impalas, and many others. Enjoy a long game drive until dusk and retire to bed after dinner in the lodge.
Day 3: Lake Nakuru –Lake Naivasha
Driving Distance: 60km (45min) Game Drive Hours: 3hrs Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner We will go on an early morning game drive after a hot cup of coffee at 0630hrs. Enjoy viewing the wildlife around the lake and look out for rare animals like the leopards and black rhinos which tend to hide away from view. Return to the lodge for a full breakfast and depart the park at 1000hrs for lake Naivasha. Arrive in Lake Naivasha at 1200hrs and check into Lake Naivasha Sopa lodge, Taphe guest house or Simba lodge. Have a lunch and a view of this beautiful lake. Lake Naivasha is the only fresh water lake in the great rift lakes system. In the afternoon, you will embark on a boat ride to the crescent island in the middle of the lake. Walk among the wildlife in the island including wildebeests, gazelles, giraffes and zebras. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Lake Naivasha – Masai Mara Game Reserve
Driving Distance: 250km (5hr) Game Drive Hours: 3hrs Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Early morning, you will wake up to the freshness of the lake and after breakfast, depart for Masai mara game reserve at 0830hrs. You will arrive in Masai mara and check into one of the best lodges or Luxury camp in Mara. Have a buffet lunch and relax for the early afternoon. Later depart for an evening game drive at 1600hrs to see the animals including lions, elephants, rhinos, buffalos, leopards, gazelles, impalas, zebras, giraffe, hyenas, wildebeests and many others. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 5: Masai Mara Game Reserve
Driving Distance: 180km (Full Day) Game Drive Hours: 7-9hrs Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Full day will be spent in Maasai Mara game reserve. You will depart the lodge after breakfast at 0830hrs for a full day game viewing. We will drive to the mara river to watch the hippos and crocodiles and possibly the wildebeest river crossing. Watch as the thousands of wildebeests make their way across the flooded river with crocodiles attacking them from all directions. Enjoy a picnic lunch at the mara river and later a game drive in the afternoon as you return back to lodge by dusk. Enjoy a warm bath and dinner at the lodge.
Day 6: Masai Mara Game Reserve to Nairobi
Driving Distance: 280km (5hrs.30min) Game Drive Hours: 3hrs Meals: Breakfast, Lunch Wake up early and go for a dawn game drive when its chilly. This is a great time to see the wildlife as they are waking up and hungry for a meal. Look out for the elusive animals. Return to the lodge by 0830hrs for a full breakfast and check out. Depart masai mara for Nairobi at 0930hrs with a an enroute lunch. Drop off to the Airport or city hotel in the afternoon at 1600hrs. End of Tour
