9 DAYS MASAI MARA – NAKURU – NAIVASHA ITINERARY

Luxury safari – staying in 4* or 5* Lodges all through

Day 1:

Nairobi – Masaai Mara (5 hrs. 14min 285.8km)

Meet at the city center where you can have breakfast on own before we depart to Masai Mara at 08.30 am.We will drive past the Great Rift Valley via Narok Town for refueling arriving Masai Mara in time for afternoon game viewing.

This reserve is Kenya’s most popular game sanctuary, most famous and visited game reserve in Kenya. The park adjoins the Serengeti park of Tanzania. A land of undulating hills and rolling grasslands supports a huge animal population. During the months of July to September, millions of wildebeests and zebras migration overflow into the Mara from the Serengeti national park in Tanzania. The black manned lion dominated the Mara, cheetahs, elephants, cape buffaloes, giraffe, gazelle, antelope and many other plains game are to be found here. Diner and overnight at the Lodge.

Day 2 :

Maasai Mara

Full day game viewing in the Mara with an option nature walk or visit to a nearby Maasai village in between meals breaks we will cater for picnic lunches. Dinner and overnight at the Lodge.

 Day 3:

Maasai Mara

Spend a full day at leisure within the extensive and beautiful Mara reserve, looking out for the big five and enjoying morning and afternoon game drives with all meals being served at the lodge. Optional activities include a visit to the Maasai villages, walking safaris or hot air balloon safari. Dinner and overnight at the Lodge.

Day 4:

Maasai Mara – Lake Nakuru (5 hrs. 5 min, 286.1km)

After breakfast we depart the Mara and proceed via Narok to the Rift Valley town of Nakuru, where we arrive late afternoon. Overnight and dinner at the camp or hotel close to Nakuru National Park.

Day 5:

Lake Nakuru

After an early breakfast, enter Lake Nakuru National Park, which is famous for the thousands of flamingo that inhabit the shores of the lake. The park has been successful in housing many endangered species including black and white rhino, Rothchild giraffe and the elusive leopard – all of which are frequently seen on game drives. You can spot these along with buffalo, lion, zebra, waterbuck, gazelle, impala, hyrax and hippo. Picnic lunch in the park, then dinner at the lodge.

Day 6:

Lake Nakuru

After breakfast, proceed for a game drive in the Rhino sanctuary which is home to a colony of about 25 white and black Rhinos. Predators are also resident in the Park. Later, dinner at the lodge.

  Day 7:

Lake Nakuru – Lake Naivasha (1hr 25 min, 70.0km)

Breakfast will be served at the lodge followed by check out. The Safari adventure today takes you to the sparkling waters of Lake Naivasha arriving at the lodge in time for lunch.

Lake Naivasha is the highest of the Great Rift Valley lakes and the second largest freshwater lake in Kenya. The lake has no known outlet, usually a requirement for a freshwater lake and is home to over 450 species of birds.

 

Spend the afternoon at leisure or have several optional activities such as nature walk, biking, bird walk along the shore of the lake, visit to Crescent Island, cultural dance, horse riding, rock climbing, boat trips in the lake excursions to Hell’s Gate National Park, one of the few remaining places where you can walk alongside wildlife.

Overnight at the lodge

Day 8: Lake Naivasha

After breakfast, proceed for a game drive in the Rhino sanctuary which is home to a colony of about 25 white and black Rhinos. Predators are also resident in the Park. The afternoon is at your leisure with the option of exploring this lake by taking a boat ride to Crescent Island for a negotiable fee (the guides at the lake will let you know about the price).

Dinner and overnight stay at the Lodge (Full board Accommodation

Day 9:

Lake Naivasha – Nairobi (1hr 53min, 91.0km)

Breakfast will be served at the lodge, depart by road to Nairobi with game viewing en route. Lunch will be served at the famous Carnivore Restaurant in Nairobi.

After lunch, transfer to Nairobi Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your international departure flight with Africa Safari memories which will last forever.
