Where night is marked by different wildlife sounds and awoken at dawn by chirping birds and laughing hyenas. It’s in Masai mara where you witness the high drama at high noon at the mara river cross when thousands of wildebeest cross river mara only to die from the raging waters, the crocodiles and the predators. It’s here where over 1.5million wildebeests cross between two countries covering an area of 3,000km and going against enormous odds to reach fresh pasture.
Lake Nakuru also gives you a calm atmosphere of observing this soda lake located on the floor of the Great Rift Valley. The lake Nakuru national park is known for its large populations of flamingos, over 450 species of birds and a great number of white and black rhinos that will share the roads with your vehicle. The tree climbing lions are also captivating to watch among other animals found here.

📋 Itinerary
Day 1: Masai mara
Nairobi to Masai mara Game Reserve Driving Distance: 280km (5hrs.30min) Game Drive Hours: 3hrs Meals: Lunch and Dinner Accommodation: Masai Mara Lodge Our friendly driver guide will pick you up from the Nairobi city hotel for the drive to masai mara at 0830am. The tour goes through the Great Rift Valley crossing the rift floor and reaching the masai mara loita plains by 1300hrs. Check into your lodge in masai mara and have a buffet lunch. Relax for an afternoon siesta and later game drive at 1600hrs till dusk. Return to lodge by dusk for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Masai mara Game Reserve
Full Day at Masai mara Game Reserve Driving Distance: 180km (all day) Game Drive Hours: 7-9hrs Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Accommodation: Masai Mara Lodge The birds of the Masai mara will sing you a song to wake you at dawn as the hyenas laugh at you early. You will enjoy a leisurely breakfast at 0630hrs before leaving the lodge for the Mara River to the north part of Masai mara game reserve. This is the climax of the 4 days Masai mara safari as you will be doing day long game drives today. We will arrive at the mara river and pick a vantage point where we can watch the hippos and crocodiles in the water. If it’s the wildebeest migration season, the drama is even much more with thousands of these animals jumping into the water with thunderous splashes of water. The animals die by the thousands from downing, crocodile attacks, broken limbs, getting stuck in the mud and from the ambushing lions on opposite bank. Enjoy the drama at the mara river and a picnic lunch by the river. Later you will drive slowly with a n enroute game drive back to your lodge in the late evening. Arrive at your lodge by dusk for a well deserved shower, dinner and overnight rest.
Day 3: Masai mara Game Reserve
Masai mara Game Reserve – Lake Nakuru National Park Game Drive Hours: 4-6hrs Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Accommodation: Lake Nakuru Lodge Early morning rise and a pre breakfast game drive at 0630hrs with only a cup of hot coffee and some bitings. Return to the lodge at 0830hrs for a full buffet breakfast and later depart for Lake Nakuru national park at 1000hrs with an en route packed lunch. Arrive in Nakuru in the late afternoon and check into the Lake Nakuru lodge/Sarova lion Hill or Sopa Lodge. Enjoy a buffet lunch and a swim in the pool. Later go on a game drive at 1600hrs until dusk. Dinner and retire to bed at the lodge.
Day 4: Lake Nakuru National Park to Nairobi Driving Distance:
Lake Nakuru National Park to Nairobi Driving Distance: 170km (2.5-3hrs) Game Drive Hours: 3hrs Meals: Breakfast, Lunch Lake Nakuru National Park to Nairobi Driving Distance: 170km (2.5-3hrs) Game Drive Hours: 3hrs Meals: Breakfast, Lunch Early morning rise up to the singing birds of Nakuru, enjoy a cup of hot coffee and go on an early game drive around the lake. Observe the lions, leopards, hippos, buffalos, rhinos, giraffes, zebras, gazelles, impalas, flamingos and the synchronized swimming greater white pelican among many other birds. Depart from the park at 1100hrs after a full breakfast at the lodge for Nairobi with an enroute lunch. Arrive in Nairobi in the late afternoon at 1600hrs and drop off at your hotel or the JKIA airport. End of Tour
